Busy wythnos

Wythros arall drosodd and back to dysgu Cymraeg bora dydd Lllun! I had an exciting week last week- meeting y frenhines at Castell Caernarfon it was in many papur newydd showing photos of our meet!

Wrth chwarae golff dydd Sadwrn many members enjoyed making comments! I’m looking forward to meeting other dysgwyr Cymraeg at Eisteddfod y Dysgwyr in hendre hall on May 21st @ 7pm- please come along to support!

Other news mae fy merch yn mynd i Cyprus am 3 blwyddyn with her husband (who is in RAF).

I find it difficult with all these hannar tymor’s to keep up my Cymraeg but get reminded by many people to keep going. We have many laughs in class about vowels and mutations as I find these hard!

Now, more breakfasts in between doing this blog,  looking forward to our next meet

Mae hanner tymor drosodd so back to coleg Menai for more dysgu Cymraeg!

During hanner tymor i have been siarad Cymraeg where possible using words I have learned previously. Dwi wedi bod am haircut  ready for my invite to Castell Caernarfon to meet the Brenhinness a’i Gŵr- I hope it will be a diwrnod braf. While having haircut I spoke Cymraeg to barber Jason, he was very helpful with my efforts and was impressed- so diolch Jason of ’Magic Clippers’!

Yn ôl adref to make my swper which is cyw iâr, tatws,  moron a  peas!

Look out for wythos nesa’s blog to see if I met Y Frenhiness a’i Gŵr!

Hwyl, Will

Sut mae?

Tymor dau, ac wythnos i ffwrdd- as you can see by my Flicker photos, I have been out doing more charity work this amser at ysbyty Gwynedd giving out wyau Pasg i’r plant!

Mi es ir banc bora dydd Mawrth a siarad Cymraeg drwy’r amser, roedd pobl yn hapus iawn! During my next pythefnos nesa dwi am chware golff yn clwb golff Caernarfon.

As you can see my Cymraeg is coming along and I try to use it where possible so, like me, keep trying using the words you know.

Don’t be shy!

Hwyl, Will

Ychydig o bopeth

Su mae?

Wythos arall dosodd and still enjoying my cymraeg lessons.

Wythnos yma was telling the time- harder than I thought, but getting there.  Rhydian (from uned 5, who stays with me every week) taught me a new word- ‘siomedigaeth’ which means disappointment- a hyfryd word.

My blog is now like a crossword filling the words I know in cymraeg but it helps me to put sentences together. Dw’i wedi bod allan doing my lookalike work wythos yma, all for charity and good fun meeting many people.

I would like to come to some of your cuppa and chat meetings, any invites?

Thanks for comment

Sut dach chi?

Dw’i wedi dod yn astudio Cymraeg rŵan ers deg wythnos and in this time I can now go shopping in Cymraeg to the local bakers and ask  “ga’i dorth mawr gwyn os gwelwch yn dda?” or to the suppermarket and get cigi a llysiau. I also chwarae golff efo Glyn ar fora Sadwrn, so as you can see, learning to me is like a jigsaw- I’ve nearly got the basics but I still have a lot to fill in at this stage. But I’m very proud of myself as I’ve only had 20 hrs lessons and look what they have taught me? Not bad for a 60yr old lookalike!!

I believe that I could not have learned this by home study,  so 2 hrs a week at Coleg Menai with Ann is well worth it- thanks for all your comments it all helps!

Bora da!

What a great lesson this week to help our pronunciation. We sang ‘Hen Wlad Fy Nhadau’- the Welsh National Anthem- it was brilliant and I felt a sense of satisfaction, so if you to are dysgu Cymraeg -give it a go! I’m not quite ready to make a CD yet, but who knows we could do it for charity!

I have one charity event this week, but soon Jim Royle could be doing a performance in Welsh- what a challenge! Any volenteers to write a script please blog or contact me.  Welsh learners week coming soon let people know we are trying- hope to meet some of you soon, and keep the comments coming!

‘Till then

hwyl, Will

Bora da! Half term over and back to school today! Sometimes, I feel as if I have forgot everything I have learned but this could be an age problem, but I also think it’s all there, and I just need to keep practicing! I have spoke to many people about learning welsh and a lot say it is to hard, but well I say that’s rubbish because it’s fun and it means that we have more Welsh speakers in Wales, so keep going ! I’ve been busy in at the Guest House (Ty Hapus)last week, but met more intresting people- Garry Slaymaker was one nice guy and encouraged me to keep going, and practise. Meeting people is probably the best thing about learning Welsh- theyre always pleased you are trying, and they encourage you to carry on! I have done a Welsh interview on Heart FM radio with a lot of help from Kev bach- thanks Kev! I missed my last Welsh lesson and was told it was quiet in the class without me- I don’t know whether that what a hint to shut up! I like to have fun learning the language of heaven. Please leave comments Hwyl Will
